CLINICAL TRAINING PROGRAM
Pacific Center is currently accepting applications for the 2008-09
trainee and internship program.
Graduate level psychology and social work trainees and interns receive valuable training
working with our highly diverse LGBT population.
Our year long program meets all Board of Behavioral
Health requirements for licensure. Interns are supervised
by licensed mental health therapists who
generously donate their time.

YOUTH PROGRAM
LGBT youth ages 13-23 living in Berkeley, Oakland and the
surrounding communities can find support and information through Pacific
Center. Our services include: • Gay-Straight
Alliance Club Support
Pacific Center provides tools, information, leadership training, and
organizing support for school-based Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA)
clubs in Berkeley and Oakland high schools. GSA activities
include outreach, monthly movie nights, workshops, dances, and
educational campaigns. Contact our Youth Coordinator for more
information.

Staff and trained youth speakers can provide LGBT issues
training and information for your organization. Through a
structured curriculum, participants will learn LGBT 101 basics and
gain a better understanding of meeting the unique needs of LGBT
youth.
• Safer Schools Project
Youth share their personal coming out stories and inform others about LGBT youth
issues and needs! Become a trained speaker and workshop leader
by joining a team of young people improving their schools and
communities one place at a time.

Clinical Outreach at the Steamworks
Every Friday evening from
5pm to 8pm, Steamworks patrons can speak with a psychotherapist on a
wide range of issues and receive referrals for ongoing mental health
and substance use needs.
Educational Workshops
Educational workshops provide
information and resources to gay
and bisexual men affected by HIV/AIDS. Topics include issues
like New and Developing
Treatments for HIV, Super Infection, and Return to Work.
