Clinical Training Program

The therapists I work with are incredible. They are warm, collaborative, and are able to be both playful and empathetic. We support each other to better support our community!

Graduate level psychology trainees, master's level trainees and associates as well as newly licensed clinicians receive valuable training working with our diverse LGBTQIA+ and QTBIPOC clients. Our year long program meets all Board of Behavioral Sciences & Board of Psychology licensing laws. Clinicians in the training program are supervised by licensed clinicians.
Associate clinicians may be hired pending open spots. There are currently no open spots for any Associate clinicians at this time.
The training program is a minimum 12-month commitment. Student trainee clinicians start in September. End dates of the application will be updated above. We are currently accepting applications for clinical trainees in MFT, LPCC or LCSW programs.
Clinicians in training are required to commit to 20 hours per week and must be willing to complete 8-10 client hours during our office hours and be able to commit to completing 75% of these 20 hours in person. All days of orientation (held the first 2 weeks of September) are mandatory.

Clinicians working at the Pacific Center for Human Growth participate in a weekly 2 hour didactic training which is tailored to enhance and deepen their clinical skills to better serve the community. Because our clinical program is a hybrid of a community based mental clinic with an overlay of private practice sensibilities, the training program is designed to address the contemporary needs of the clients and the community we serve through a multi-dimensional lens. The trainings offered include a variety of ideologies and orientations. Some examples of the training topics include: Trauma Informed Care, Understanding Intersex, Relationship Work aka Couples Work Racialized Trauma, Disordered Eating, Asexuality and Aromanticism 101, Neurodivergent Affirming Therapy and many more!
